Steen/Rozell accident

On October 13th 2010 at approximately 1345 hours, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a two vehicle property damage accident at C38 and Fir Ave.  When deputies arrived, they found that this was in fact an accident with injuries.

Chance Steen, age 20, of rural Akron had been operating a 2009 Chevy Silverado owned by Winter Feedlots INC.  Steen was south bound on Fir Ave and for an unknown reason, did not notice that the semi in front of him was slowing down for a stop sign at Fir Ave and C38.

Joshua Rozell, age 27, of Akron was driving the semi, a 96 Peterbilt also owned by Winter Feedlots INC.

Steen ran into the rear of the grain trailer causing severe damage to the Chevy truck and functional damage to the trailer. The Chevy truck is listed as totaled and the trailer has more than $1000 in damage.

Steen was taken to Mercy Medical by Hinton Ambulance with a possible head injury.  Charges are pending against Steen.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Akron and Hinton Police Departments, Hinton Ambulance and Merrill Fire/ Rescue.
