At approximately 0940 hours, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office received a call from LeMars Police Department. They were summoned to Floyd Valley Hospital for a subject that had been assaulted.
When officers arrived, information was gathered and it was determined that Doretta Button of Merrill, Iowa was assaulted by her son, Joshua Andrew Iverson (23), also of Merrill, Iowa. Button and Iverson had gotten into some type of disagreement and Iverson assaulted his mother by striking her with his fist and then threatening her with a knife. Iverson left the residence and Button was able to leave and seek treatment at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, Iowa.
Iverson was later located at a homeless shelter in Sioux City, Iowa by the Sioux City Police Department and was arrested on charges filed by Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
Iverson was charged with going armed with intent, a class D felony and Aggravated Assault. |
