Whisenhunt arrested for OWI

On 8-29-2016 at approximately 8:00 pm, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a reckless driver in Akron, IA. A short time later, the vehicle was located unoccupied in the ditch north of Akron near C-16 and Hwy 12. Deputies investigated the accident and suspected that alcohol was involved. At approximately 9:00 pm, the driver, Tasha Whisenhunt age 32 of Laverne, OK, and her 11 year old daughter were located walking on C-12 near Craig, IA. Tasha Whisenhunt was found to be intoxicated. She and her daughter were taken to Floyd Valley Hospital for minor injuries. Tasha Whisenhunt was arrested for OWI 1st offense (serious misdemeanor), and Child Endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor). DHS was called and placement was found for the child. Whisenhunt’s bond was set at $2,000. She was released on her own recognizance the following morning after seeing a judge.
