On 10/13/16 at approximately 9:30 p.m., an Iowa State Trooper recognized a vehicle as stolen on Highway 12, north of Stone State Park, in Plymouth County. The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver fled. The pursuit turned east onto Plymouth County road C38 where speeds exceeded 115 miles per hour. Plymouth County and Akron Police joined the pursuit near K18 and C38. The car struck stop sticks at C38 and K22 which were placed by a Plymouth County Deputy.
The driver stopped approximately two miles east of K22 where she and a passenger were taken into custody. Both subjects taken into custody are juveniles so no names are being released at this time. There were no injuries and no damage to any vehicles except the stolen car which sustained two flat tires.

As part of a follow up investigation from the above pursuit, deputies went to 23146 K22. While there, deputies located the following, a 2000 GMC stolen from Brunsville, a 2011 Polaris Razor UTV stolen from Nebraska and a 2015 Polaris Ranger stolen from Sioux City. At approximately 5:06 a.m., a Plymouth County Deputy saw a vehicle turn into the same residence and knew the vehicle to be stolen. When he tried to make contact, all occupants fled the vehicle. Deputies recovered a 2013 Ford Fusion stolen from Akron.
As a result, the Iowa State Patrol and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office arrested a total of 7 juveniles, all from Sioux City, for either theft 1st, class D felony, or theft 2nd, class C felony. All are being held at the YES Center in Cherokee.
