Female found in creek near Kingsley

On Sunday, the 19th day of February, 2017, at approximately 2230 hours, the Kingsley Police Department was contacted about a missing person. Josh Derby of Kingsley, Iowa made contact with the Kingsley Police Department and advised that his mother, Lisa Luann Derby of 419 Barre Street in Kingsley, Iowa has been missing since approximately 1700 hours from her residence in Kingsley. Family and friends had been searching for Lisa and have not been able to locate her.

On Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 0807 hours, the Plymouth County Comm. Center received a call from a subject that resides at 43755 County Road C-66. He advised he was checking the un-named creek close to his residence and found an unresponsive female in the creek.

The Kingsley Ambulance, Kingsley Fire, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Kingsley Police Department were dispatched to this area. A white female was found in the creek deceased. The Plymouth County Coroner was contacted and the body was transported to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa. The body was identified as Lisa LuAnn Derby, the missing female from Kingsley, Iowa.

At this time, the investigation is continuing in this matter.
