Derby death investigation is closed

On 2/19/17, the Kingsley Police Department received a complaint of a missing person.  Lisa L. Derby of Kingsley, Iowa, was later found just north of Kingsley in the area of County Road C-66.  She was found in a creek deceased on 2/21/17.

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, Plymouth County Medical Examiner and the Kingsley Police Department conducted an investigation concerning the circumstances surrounding the death.

Dr. Sheila Holcomb, the Plymouth County ME, has determined the death to be accidental.  Cause of death is hypothermia.  Unless new information is developed or surfaces, the case is closed at this time.
