Dennehey arrested for OWI

On 5-2-18 at 6:11 pm, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a vehicle vs. bicyclist accident that occurred at C60/K30 west of Hinton, IA. Before law enforcement arrived, the parties involved left the scene. It was later found that the pickup driver transported the bicyclist to St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City and then left. Deputies spoke to the bicyclist at the hospital and identified him as Brent Linn age 59 of Sioux City. The pickup driver was later located at his residence and was identified as Gary Dennehey, age 71 of Westfield, IA. Dennehey was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. While taking Dennehey into custody, he made threats towards the deputies and resisted arrest. Dennehey was jailed at the Plymouth County Jail.

 

Dennehey was charged with OWI 1st offense (serious misdemeanor), Interference with official acts (simple misdemeanor), failure to maintain control (simple misdemeanor), and steering too close to a bicyclist (simple misdemeanor).
