On 5-6-11, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timothy Randall Droog, age 30, of Orange City, IA. At 11:15pm, a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Droog for a traffic violation at Hwy 12 and K18S, south of Akron, IA. With lights and siren activated, Droog failed to stop for the deputy and made an attempt to elude the deputy while traveling at speeds in excess of 80 mph.
After approximately 5 miles, Droog entered a farm residence at 28992 Elk Ave. There, Droog took his vehicle off road and tried to hide in a grove of trees. After a short search, the deputy located the vehicle with two occupants. Both were taken into custody without incident. There was a female passenger who was not involved in participation of the pursuit. Sylvia Eva Barron, age 19, of Sioux City, IA was later released without charges.
Droog was arrested and jailed at the Plymouth County Jail. Droog was charged with the following charges and held after appearing before a judge. Bond was set at $15,000.
