Langel arrested for domestic and Thill arrested on drug charges

ON 1/6/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:18 A.M., A PLYMOUTH COUNTY DEPUTY REPORTED TO 427 MAIN STREET IN MERRILL, IOWA ON SUSPICION THAT THE OWNER OF THAT RESIDENCE WAS HARBORING A SUBJECT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH A FELONY DOMESTIC ASSAULT THAT OCCURRED ON 1/5/2019 IN LE MARS, IOWA.  WHILE OUTSIDE THAT RESIDENCE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE WANTED SUBJECT, MATTHEW JOHN LANGEL, AGE 40 OF LE MARS, WAS INSIDE THE HOME.  A PLYMOUTH COUNTY K9 UNIT WAS DEPLOYED TO THE REAR OF THE RESIDENCE AND VERBAL WARNINGS WERE GIVEN FOR SUSPECT TO ANNOUNCE HIMSELF AND SURRENDER OR THE K9 WOULD BE DEPLOYED INTO THE RESIDENCE.  A SHORT TIME LATER, MATTHEW JOHN LANGEL SURRENDERED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT 3RD OFFENSE.  A CONTINUED INVESTIGATION OUTSIDE THE RESIDENCE LED TO THE ARREST OF THE HOME OWNER RANDY GENE THILL, AGE 50 OF MERRILL, IOWA FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.  BOTH SUBJECTS WERE BOOK INTO THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY JAIL.
