On January 24, 2019 at approximately 2118 hours, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reference a two vehicle accident on 150th St. west of Highway 75. A 1995 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling eastbound on 150th St. approaching a hill. A 1997 Ford Ranger was traveling westbound on 150th St. from Highway 75. The Ranger was traveling without its headlights on and crested the hill. The Ranger side swiped the Ram causing disabling damage to both vehicles. The driver of the Ram was Tron Hamilton, age 20, of Brunsville. The driver of the Ranger was Blake Riepma, age 21, of Ireton. Neither driver sustained injuries in this vehicle accident. Both vehicles were towed by Stockton towing.
While investigating the accident, Plymouth County deputies made aware of a road rage incident prior to the accident. Red and blue lights were found in the Ford Ranger. Blake was issued the following citations; operating a vehicle using blue lights on a non-emergency vehicle, failure to use headlamps when required, failure to maintain control, failure to maintain or use safety belt.
