**The names are being released in the below accident.

The driver of the Chevy Equinox was Evan Nettleton, age 26 of Sioux City. Nettleton died as the result of the crash.

The driver of the GMC was Timothy Wolfswinkel, age 42 of Dallas Center, Iowa. Wolfswinkel had his 2 minor daughters ages 4 and 5 with him.

Both vehicles are a total loss and charges are pending the completion of the technical accident investigation.

**On December 24, 2019 at 1141 AM the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls of a motor vehicle accident. The accident was located at C70 and K49, approximately 10 miles south of Le Mars. Along with the sheriff's office, the Iowa State Patrol and Le Mars Police, Hinton Fire and Ambulance and Kingsley Fire all responded. As a result of this accident, there was 1 fatality that occurred.

At this point, it has been determined that a 2013 Chevy Equinox was travelling west bound on C70. A 2015 GMC K3500 pickup was travelling north on K49. For unknown reasons, the north bound GMC failed to see and/or stop for the stop sign. The crash took place within the intersection. Both vehicles then left the roadway coming to rest in a field.

Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.

The occupants of the GMC were taken to a Sioux City hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by accident investigators from the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, Le Mars Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
