On 02/20/21 at 1:57 a.m., the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office came upon a vehicle stuck in the snow in Merrill, Iowa. While assisting the driver and through investigation, deputies learned the driver, identified as Hunter Joseph Pearce, age 23 of Iowa, LA, did not have a valid driver's license. Also, it appeared to deputies that Peace may be under the influence of some type of narcotic.
Peace was transported to the Plymouth County Jail where a certified drug recognition expert performed several sobriety tests on Pearce. As a result of the investigation, Peace was arrested and charged with the following offenses: operating while under the influence 2nd offense, carrying weapons -knife over 8 inches, no valid driver's license, failure to provide proof of financial liability; and, operating a non-registered vehicle. Pearce was booked into the Plymouth County Jail and held on bond.
