On behalf of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, I want to welcome you to our website. Plymouth County is located in the NW corner of Iowa, bordering our neighbor state South Dakota.  We are the 4th largest county in square miles, 864, with a population of approximately 26,000.  Plymouth County is also the northernmost start for the beautiful Loess Hills Byway.  Cities located in Plymouth County include the county seat LeMars, the ICE CREAM CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, Akron, Brunsville, Craig, Hinton, Kingsley, Merrill, Oyens, Remsen, Westfield and a small portion of Sioux City.   Hopefully, you will find this website user-friendly and provide you with answers to questions you may have.

Fisher arrest on warrant

August 18, 2022

On 08/18/22 at 7:25 a.m., the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Timothy Fisher, age 43 of Hinton, Iowa on a valid Plymouth County warrant. The warrant is for violation of probation with an original charge of attempted burglary 3rd degree. Fisher was booked into the Plymouth County Jail and held on bond.

Cardwell arrested for OWI, PCS and Paraphernalia

August 18, 2022

On August 18, 2022 at approximately 0039 hrs., the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a black 2013 GMC Terrain on Hwy 75 near 250th Street. Stallman arrest for DWLS

August 17, 2022

On August 17, 2022 at approximately 0906 hrs., the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima on Hwy 75 near mile marker 119.
