Kirschten 10-50 PD

On October 24, 2023 at approximately 12:15 hrs, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a semi rollover on 230^th St near K49.  This would be about 4 miles south of Le Mars. Upon arrival deputies found a 2004 Peterbilt tractor with grain trailer on the passenger side in the north ditch of 230^th St. The driver, Shane Kirschten of Alton, was out of the vehicle and uninjured.  The semi had been west bound on 230^th approaching the intersection of K49.  The vehicle entered the north ditch, rolled onto the side and the load of corn was spilled into the ditch/field.

The truck and trailer sustained an estimated $50,000 in damage.  The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Le Mars Fire/Rescue department and Stockton towing.
