Lyons arrested for OWI 2nd/DWLB/Eluding

On June 26, 2024 at approximately 22:20 hrs., the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near K22 and Granite Ave.  The vehicle was described as a red 2007 Ford F-150 pickup.  The driver was identified as Broderick Blaine Lyons, age 37 of Sioux City, Iowa.  When Plymouth County Deputies attempted to stop the Ford pickup, it failed to stop and failed to obey Plymouth County Deputies’ emergency lights and audible sirens.  The vehicle pursuit nearly lasted a half hour throughout rural Plymouth County.  Plymouth County Deputies successfully used Stop Stick on the Ford and deflated both front tires.  Lyons stopped the Ford in the middle of the roadway near the Casey’s in Akron and he was apprehended at this time.  Lyons was booked into the Plymouth County Jail and held on bond for a valid arrest warrant out of Monona County along with charges for failure to display registration plates, driving on wrong side of two-way highway, operating while under the influence 2nd offense, driving while Iowa license barred for being a habitual offender and eluding, a class D felony.
