Speed Enforcement Project
From August 18th to August 31st, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office conducted targeted speed enforcement patrols. During that period five deputies worked a total of 32 hours on the project. The goal was to reduce excessive speeds in Plymouth County thereby reducing the number of serious injury or fatality accidents.
The speed enforcement will continue until approximately mid-September.
During the August dates a total of 14 speed citations and 32 speed warnings were issued. In addition, 4 citations and 26 warnings were issued for other traffic violations. There was also one operating while intoxicated investigation and one driving while license suspended arrest.
The project was funded under the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB) Speed corridor project.
